Princeton Review's Best 379 Colleges

The 2015 rankings from the Princeton Review are in, and Roanoke College once again finds itself among the 379 Best Colleges.  In addition to this ranking, the Princeton Review has named Roanoke College as a great school for majors in Computer Science.  This is the fourth consecutive year that the Computer Science department has received this distinction!

The Computer Science major has undergone a many changes in the past four years, as we continue to evolve our program to better fit the needs of our students. The major now has two different tracks, creating paths for research oriented or applications oriented education.  Along with this change, a Senior capstone class has been added, giving students a guaranteed research or applied project before they graduate.  The introductory courses have switched from Java to Python, and have undergone major restructuring to give students a more hands on and engaging approach to their education.  Even the computer lab has changed, as we have moved and renovated the lab, giving students an incredible place to learn both during and after classes.

It is a great honor to continue to receive this accolade from the Princeton Review.  We look forward to providing the highest quality of education to our students, and continuing to improve our methods for years to come.
